This is a wonderful story about a group of girls who are all friends. The book shows us how they each deal with what worries them. Their worries are probably similar to those of a lot of girls. I loved how most of these girls dealt with each other and their issues with out being rude to one another. They really cared about each other and others who lived on Orange Street. Let me not forget to mention that there is a very special orange tree on the street. ( for ages 8-11)

I read this book on the recommendation of my 5th grade son. I loved it! What could be more bizarre than kids at a boarding school where there are no teachers. The students each have jobs, they teach, cook, clean, do maintenance and even work in the infirmary. When they break the rules they are punished and some students even disappear. Who is behind this bizarre and even cruel existence? What are they trying to do? There are some great twists in the book. The ending of the is just the beginning and I can't wait for the next one to come out. I need my questions answered. ( for ages 10 and up)

As you see, I don't just read Middle Readers and Young Adult Books. I really enjoyed this book. It is the true story of a woman who decided to hike the Pacific Crest Trail as a way to deal with some of her life problems. I love how it is written. It made me stop and think about emotional and physical strength. There were also moments in the book when the author made me laugh out loud.
