Christine Robertson is an all American girl with strong views on just
about everything, so when she comes face to face with medieval customs
and attitudes in Scotland, a monumental clash of cultures is
inevitable. For Christine and her brother Jason, Scotland is a source
of some interest and a puzzling bequest, but nothing more. Until, that
is, they stumble across the mirror, worlds collide and suddenly they
are no longer in control of their own lives. The feisty Christine finds
out very quickly that history is not the dry subject matter of dusty
libraries but is vibrant, violent, bloody, thrilling and courtly, all
at the same time, and not so easy to escape from. Especially when she
finds herself thrown slap bang into the middle of the violent Scottish
Wars of Independence and face to face with a warrior who could very
well turn out to be the love of her life seven hundred years too
early.
