“Surveillance Theatre” is a live performance piece inspired by Marina Budhos’ YA novel Watched about modern day police surveillance in a Queens, NY Muslim community. This will be the New Jersey premiere of the piece adapted and performed by Theatre 167, a multicultural and multilingual Manhattan-based theatrical group. Some of the actors will discuss their own immigrant experiences with Marina following the performance.
The event is free and open to all Montclair middle, high school or college students. Please register to ensure a seat at the Montclair High School Little Theater or call 973-744-0500 ext 2235. Remaining seats are first come, first served.
Marina will be signing her books which will be available for purchase from Watchung Booksellers at the event.
