Join ASM for an evening with acclaimed non-fiction author, Deborah Davis, as she discusses her new book The Oprah Winfrey Show: Reflections on an American Legacy,
published by Abrams. Hear about the book Publisher's Weekly describes
as, "A lavish and loving tribute to the television personality, icon,
and philanthropist. This book makes a powerful case for Oprah’s
centrality and influence on American culture." Ms Davis' latest work is an
authorized history of the television show with a foreword by Maya
Angelou and essays from Nelson Mandela, Elie Wiesel and Toni Morrison,
among others.
One of the most iconic American success stories,
Oprah Winfrey changed television history with her eponymous "The Oprah
Winfrey Show" for 25 years. She interviewed the most famous people in
the world, yet touched millions with her understanding of the human
struggle to survive, grow and live joyfully.
Deborah Davis, a Montclair resident, has written six books, including Strapless, Party of the Century, Gilded, and the upcoming Guest of Honor.
